Roasted Whole Chicken
Roasting a chicken in a pellet grill is EASY! Wow your tastebuds with this melt-in-your-mouth roasted chicken! Covered with olive oil and your favorite poultry rub, this roasted chicken tastes amazing!
Woodwind Pellet Grill
- 1 whole Chicken
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Camp Chef Citrus Herb Blend or your favorite poultry rub
Remove plastic from chicken and remove giblets and neck from inside of cavity, if necessary. Pat dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil over outside and inside of chicken. Rub salt and pepper on outside and inside then apply poultry rub generously to chicken. Cook on high smoke for 30 minutes up to 1 hour, depending on how much smoke flavor you want or how soon you want the chicken done. Turn pellet grill up to 400 degrees and finish cooking until internal temperature, of chicken, reaches 165 degrees. Turning the grill up during the last part of cooking will allow the chicken to brown and crisp up the skin. It will take somewhere around 2 hours to cook an average size chicken. Take off pellet grill and let rest for 10 - 15 minutes.
