Sweet with heat! The smoky heat of the chipotle peppers mixed with the sweetness of maple syrup makes these wings irresistible.
Ingredients
2-3 pounds of chicken wings
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 teaspoons canned chipotle chilies, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Maple Chipotle Wings
Step 1
Preheat pellet grill to 350 °F.
Step 2
Cook your chicken wings in pellet smoker at 350 °F until they reach an internal temperature of 145 °F.
step 3
While wings are cooking, make the sauce. In a small saucepan, over medium heat, bring first 5 ingredients to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and simmer until glaze is reduced to 3/4 cup, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes. Prepare a Dutch oven with oil for frying. Heat oil to 350 °F.
Step 4
Remove chicken from the smoker and put chicken in your fry basket. Fry chicken until they reach an internal temperature of 165 °F.
Step 5
Place wings on a paper towel lined baking sheet and let cool for 5-10 minutes.
step 6
Toss wings with sauce until completely covered.
