If you love the refreshing taste of a mojito, try it with some Smoked Simple Syrup. It balances the light airiness of a traditional mojito and gives it the "oomph" it so desperately needs. Do not operate your Camp Chef cooking equipment while under the influence. Please consume responsibly.

Ingredients

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

1.5 Tablespoon Smoked Simple Syrup

3 Tablespoon Freshly squeeze lime juice

2 Tablespoon Club soda

¼ cup Rum

Mint sprig

Sugar for rimming (optional)

Instructions

Smoked Simple Syrup

Step 1

Preheat your pellet grill to 180ºF.

Step 2

Add 1 cup water to 1 cup sugar. Give it a quick stir to begin the dissolving process. Pour into your skillet.

Step 3

Place on the bottom rack for 2 hours.

Step 4

With heat guard gloves or oven mitts, remove from the pellet grill and cool completely. Bottle in an airtight container such as a mason jar and store in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Mojito

Step 1

Carefully halve your lime and squeeze the juice into a small bowl. Save a wedge for garnish.

Step 2

In a cocktail shaker, combine an ice cube, simple syrup, 2 tablespoon lime juice, rum, and shake until mixed - about 10 seconds.

Step 3

It's not traditional, but let's rim that drink! Add the excess 1 tablespoon of lime juice to a small plate.

Step 4

Place sugar on a small plate.

Step 5

Dip the opening of the CamelBak Camp Mug into the lime juice, gently shake.

Step 6

Dip the wet rim into the sugar plate.

Step 7

Add a few ice cubes to your Camp Mug and strain your mojito mix in. Garnish with a mint sprig and lime ledge.
