Woodwind SG 24 Pellet Grill with Sidekick is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from You don't know what you're missing!!!! Grill is very easy to use. Instructions could be a little better, but that's not worth a star, and I could have been in a hurry to use it....I have smoked beef, chicken, pork so far, everything has been delicious. The pellet cleanout feature is nice if you want to experiment with different pellet "flavors". I am extremely pleased with my purchase, and my family is as well. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the grill! It's better built than most out there. Only thing that I wish it had was cast grates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Receipt, Assembly, and Burn-in Assembled easily, although watching YouTube videos was more helpful than reading Camp Chef assembly instructions or watching the all-too-short Camp Chef video. The initial burn-in went well. When set at 350 degrees, the cycling up-and-down around that temperature was much less than expected. The average maximum temperature was around 365 degrees, while the average minimum temperature was around 340 degrees, with extremes of 368 and 329 degrees. The cycle times between highs and lows were short, so the heat was +/- 10 degrees of the target temp the vast majority of the time. When set at Hi Smoke/225 degrees, the Woodwind understandably had a bit more difficulty keeping the temperature close to that lower temp. Extremes were 262 degrees and 195 degrees, and the average temp was between 205 - 245 degrees, still great in my book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Woodwind with Sidekick Fantastic product! So pleased!!! I’ve owned a Traeger for 10 years and this puts it to shame. I’m getting higher temperatures and using less pellets! The ash clean out is awesome. The propane sidekick with its modular attachments (grill box, griddle, pizza oven) is fantastic option. I’m frustrated that the electric igniter isn’t working on the sidekick but other then that I am more than impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beginners journey with pro results..... Amazingly simple and very effective at doing what it is designed to do. In my first week of owning my Wood Wind I have cooked BBQ ribs, BBQ Chicken, Beef Tenderloin Steaks, Prime Rib Roast. Each item has came out perfect. The reviews from my friends hanging out for free food and adult beverages has had the exact same review. The food is perfect. In fact one of my friends immediately ordered a Wood Wind SG 24 for himself. That's just the food portion - my grill must have been dropped by FedEx but Camp Chef upped their game and gave me my choice of some credit from my purchase or some free accessories. ( the damage was cosmetic and does not harm the function of the grill itself ) - Boom! A pizza oven was shipped immediately.... A note to those confused with the sidekick vs searbox.... Sidekick is really versatile and it sears probably just as well... Go with the sidekick and enjoy a few accessories! I believe they have a customer for life. PS. I didn't know it at the time, but they also give a military discount ( which is generous in and of itself ) Maybe I will use it the next time ( if they still have it )

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ribs I've ever had! I just got my Woodwind about a month ago and have been using it for everything; from smoking to grilling! It's been so easy to use and the temperature gauge makes it really easy to cook everything to the perfect temperature! I've been able to consistently smoke the most amazing ribs on this grill and my friends can attest!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Smoker and Grill My Woodwind SG with Sear Box arrived today. It's very well built and will last a long time. It was easy to assemble and only took about an hour. The tank holder is a very nice touch to hold the LP tank, instead of it sitting on the ground or the bottom shelf. The cover I ordered is also very nice and easy to put on the grill. It even covers the LP tank. I plan on ordering the front shelf soon and then the Patio Cart with Bamboo Cutting Board. Camp Chef is great stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can cook anything! I got the woodwind pellet grill about two months ago and I’m absolutely loving this product! I made a pork loin that was the most moist pork I’ve ever had. We’ve cooked steaks, chicken thighs, burgers and so much more! It’s super easy to use and is fast too. It cooks evenly and doesn’t burn the food! The best is you just plug it in and it’s ready in a few mins to start cooking. It gives the food such a great flavor. So far I’ve only used the competition blend which gives it an amazing not overly smoked taste. We don’t ever use the charcoal grill anymore. The clean up is easy too. I’m testing out a pork butt roast tonight!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Camp Chef Convert I’ll never hear the end of this, but this is the best grill ever. I have been building my own smokers for years, but how could I possible improve on this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best pellet grill on the market!! I made this purchase after trying ALL of the competition, and Camp Chef has no competition. This grill actually keeps the temperature in check which the other brands don't do. If you are new to pellet grills, there is a learning curve but once you grasp that concept there isn't anything you can't do with this grill. Baking, roasting, superior grilling and even light smoking are right at your fingertips with the Woodwind. Top quality as expected from Camp Chef, this product is a serious tool that takes all of your culinary skills to a higher level. Add the Grill Box and the Artisan Oven, you won't be able to find a better, more versatile outdoor cooking center on the market!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of the best pellet grills in 2018 I have had another brand of a pellet grill for seven, or more, years and I love it. I cook on it four or five times a week at my distillery and I have just about worn it out. I decided to replace it and I started looking at what was available today, new features, etc. In the process, I discovered the Camp Chef brand and their WoodWind grill with a sear box. This grill is everything my other pellet grill was and much more. First, I love the Low Smoke and the High Smoke settings. Low Smoke is around 160 degrees and High Smoke is around 225 degrees. I use these settings the most and both of them make a ton of smoke. Second, the sear box is a great feature. I have cut my pellet use in half. With my old pellet grill, I had to run the grill up to 500 degrees to do a good sear, but it used a ton of chips. The WoodWind’s sear box goes over 935 degrees, the limit of my IR temperature reader. Third, the ash clean out system means that I don’t have to open it all up and clean out the fire box several times a week. I just pull the lever and the fire box ashes fall into the cup underneath the grill. Now I only change the foil on the drip trey when it looks like it needs it, only once a month or so. And finally, I love the ability to change the pellets or just to empty them back into an air tight bag. Sometimes it is humid here in Dallas and the pellets can soak up too much moisture. I did remove that silly augur guard from the pellet hopper. What idiot attorney thought that was a good idea? Four screws and it was gone! But, all in all, the Grill God was correct. This grill is the real thing and I love it. My only complaint is that with the sear box on the right side, you lose the shelf that was there. I don’t understand why the self doesn’t attach to the sear box so that you get it back. Perhaps the sear box just gets too hot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I have had the grill almost 2 Months now. Everything made on it so far has been excellent. This grill provides the perfect amount of smoked flavor and everything cooks very evenly. The one complaint I have is the included meat probes are junk. This is an important feature of a pellet grill for cooking food perfectly and not having to open the lid. The meat probes have been 15 degrees off from a very good instant meat thermometer. That’s a huge difference and a problem. I would expect better for the price this grill costs. That’s my only complaint so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Please please please GET WIFI I want to recommend this to 100% of people, i do. But right now only recommend to about 6 out of 10 people. I've had a Traeger Grill for 7 years, sold about 50+ to friends. I knew Green Mountain was great, so i recommended it over TRAEGER because Green MTN is better than Traeger and has wifi. Literally preheat the grill from bed. Then toss in ribs and instead of babysitting them with the 3:2:1 method, come back 6 hours later and there done. The App remembers the settings and raises/lowers temp. I'll never buy Traeger ever agin. I love camp chef, But I'm split. One day it'll be by far the best if they simply add a little WIFI technology + App for smart phone. They will blow competition out of the water and be #1 by far. I have a facebook group of 35,000 members and I'd blast this feature to them all for free for Camp Chef if they ever came out with Wifi. But for now, I patiently wait.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excited to see what it can do Bought to replace a weak cheap charcoal grill, instructions were ...lacking... (thanks YouTube) so one star off for that. Overall a nice grill. We’ve grilled, we’ve smoked, we’ve experienced the magic of clean up (stock up on stiff bristle brushes), and so far enjoy our pellet grill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly happy A few pieces came damaged. I would typically not knock a product because of, knowing it was probably done while shipping and ot of their control. Except they the damaged pieces were in an inner box without damage to the outside box, meaning the pieces were damaged before being shipped and the final product was never checked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very happy with my SG 24 The grill is amazing! Did marinated shrimp, pork, and steak on the grill while cooking vegetables on the griddle. Everything came out juicy and the marinating and rub flavors were in every bite. The grill proved that equipment quality and consistency affects the outcome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good start - need more personal experience with it So far it works well, Only used it a few times, but I love the SideKick with the Grill box, as well. Only a few negatives so far - 1. MORE SMOKE. 2. Cover is too small for the Woodwind SG 24 with the sidekick and grill box.!! Otherwise it is very nice - controlls temps well, and our ribs were falling off the bone last night - close to perfect. But even using Hickory, they were not very smoke flavored. Now, being from the South, I am sed to meat cooked in a Hickory pit, so I my be a tad biased.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Damaged product.. Poor customer service I received a Woodwind SG 24 with sidekick that had multiple dents/and scratches. The pellet hopper had a dent that was pushing in against a fan restricting it's movement, and a screw/fastener fell from the controller area when I opened it up to remove the dent. Also, the whole right side of the grill was pushed in from an impact so I had to bend it back out to seal and keep the smoke in. Overall, I'm very disappointed I paid full price for a scratch and dent version, and have not even been contacted by customer service for help.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Idea Poor Execution Smoker So I’ve only had this smoker with sidekick for a few weeks, but overall it leaves somethings to be desired, that being said I will try to leave a balanced review. Packaging on shipping 2/5. Was well packaged for shipment, but unfortunately the cheap Styrofoam, in the crate left a film on the parts of the smoker that is impossible to remove (possibly due to the finish on the smoker. Putting together the main unit: 3.5/5. Overall about what I would expect, definitely easier as a two person job. Finish on main unit: 1/5. The black parts of the smoker have a horrible rough finish that is nigh on impossible to clean, every cloth or paper towel snags on it. Hopefully they have improved the finish on their newer models. Using smoker: 5/5. I’m cautiously optimistic about the actual smoker. I’ve only done the initial burn-off so far, but the unit seemed to be maintaining 350 *F throughout the process. Sidekick Installation: 1/5. As my Grandmother would say “This one was either made Monday morning or Friday afternoon”. The machining of the holes for the sidekick did not line up with those on the smoker, Camp Chef owes me at least an hour and half of my life back and about 3 months worth of cursing. I finally picked three of the four bolts I liked the best and called it a day. Leveling: 1/5. The ability to level the sidekick leaves something to be desired, basically if the far end is lower than the end attached to the smoker you’re in luck, any other configuration of off-level and there’s not much you can do about it. (Found the thread on reddit, so I’m not the only one with these problems) Use: 4/5. The actual unit works well for cooking with the caveat that all the oil I put in a frying pan likes to sit in the back. So overall while the components of the smoker and sidekick work well the overall experience could use improvement.
