You can't go wrong with golden fried seafood. Use your favorite brand of beer to get the flavor you want.
- 2 cups flour, separated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon paprika
- 12 ounce beer
- 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
- 2 pounds peeled shrimp
- 2 quarts peanut or vegetable oil
Fill a large Dutch oven with oil up to 2-3 inches. Heat it up to 350° F, monitoring the temperature consistently with a thermometer.
Combine 1 cup of flour, salt, and paprika in large bowl. Whisk in beer, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce with the flour.
Dredge shrimp in flour then dip in the batter. Fry in the hot oil for about 5 minutes.
Remove from oil and lay each shrimp on a plate lined with a paper towel. Let them sit for 5 minutes, then dig in.
