Banh Mi Burger
Love the bright flavors of a Bahn Mi sandwich but you're craving a juicy burger? Why not combine the best of both worlds and make this delicious burger with crazy flavor! Topped with Sriracha Mayo to give it a little kick.
- For the Burgers:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- Salt and pepper
- 4 Tablespoons chili garlic sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Sliced pepper jack cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- For the Pickled Vegetables:
- 2 cups vinegar
- 2 carrots, peeled and julienned
- 2 Daikon radishes, peeled and julienned
- 1 onion, halved and thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper
- For the Aioli:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Sriracha
- 1 cucumber, julienned
- 1/2 bunch cilantro, chopped
- Jalapeños, sliced thin
For the pickled vegetables: In a large bowl, combine vegetables and vinegar. Add warm water until vegetables are covered. Season with salt and pepper. Let vegetables sit for 20 minutes. Drain when done.
Mix ingredients for aioli. Set aside.
Mix ground beef, ground pork, garlic powder and chili garlic sauce. Form into 8 patties. Press the centers of the patties down so that the burgers don’t get to thick in the middle when you grill them. Season each side with salt and pepper.
Preheat grill to medium/high heat.
Grill patties until internal temperature reaches 125 degrees F. for rare, 135 degrees F. for medium rare, 145 degrees F. for medium and 160 degrees F. for well done. Flip patties halfway through cook time. The last few minutes of cooking, add a slice of cheese to patties and let the cheese melt.
Prepare toppings while burgers are grilling. Grill each bun until grill marks appear.
Assemble burgers: Bun, aioli, lettuce, patty, pickled vegetables, cucumber, jalapeño, cilantro, aioli on top bun.
