Explorer 2X Two-Burner Stove is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful outdoor cooking We love our camp chef cook stoves. We own two, One two burner and one 3 burner. we use the two burner on camping trips. The three burner we have on our patio for family cookouts. The griddle is a must accessory. Cooks steaks to perfection. We also have two dutch ovens that we use on our camp chef stove. We make camp fire beans, chicken pot pie, and wonderful layered potatoes in them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stove Purchased this stove a few weeks ago to burn down some maple sap to make maple syrup and the stove was outstanding. Ran the stove for over 7 hours on one tank of propane. The stove provided plenty of heat. Looking forward to using the stove this summer for camping and outdoor cooking by the pool. Very happy and satisfied so far.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be great. In the 90's I was part of a Scout Troop that had a camp chef stove, it was terrific. I recently bought one for myself. I read the reviews on the Explorer and the Explorer 2x and I purchased the 2x thinking it was a little nicer stove. It appears to be nothing more than an Explorer with a twenty dollar face plate. The thumbscrews witch were all metal on our old stove are now metal threads with a plastic top and are easily broken, to avoid the aggravation just throw them away and go to the hardware store and for about two dollars you can buy four all metal thumbscrews. One of the plastic leg pads was broken into several pieces, most likely in shipping, but rather than complain about it I am going to order a set of the adjustable leg levelers it would have been a good option on our old stove. The black paint on the formed rod cooking surface smells horrible when the stove is first used and I would not want it to taint my food, hopefully this will stop with further use. The bottom line is this is still a good stove and with a few inexpensive tweaks this could be a terrific stove.
