Woodwind Pellet Grill with Sear Box is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't believe the hype. Total waste of money. I suggest buying a gas grill and a smoke tube as it'll be the same thing just way cheaper. My grill produces zero smoke on either smoke settings. I've talked to 2 different Camp Chef customer service reps and they both told me "Our grills smoke very little, if at all and that I should use a smoke tube for smoke." I don't feel like I should have to use a $30 smoke tube to get smoke out of my $1000 pellet "smoker". I've done 5 briskets on my woodwind and there is zero bark and zero smoke ring. Customer service has sent me different pellets to try, a new controller and temp. probe. None have fixed the no smoke problem. I was told as long as the grill temps were in range the grill was functioning normal and that there isn't anything more they can/will do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1st cook in progress, very happy with the Woodwind I bought this on a Friday night and it delivered Free the following Wednesday! I burned it in after assembly and it really hold temps well, even in the Cold. (Less than 5 degree's to either side of set temp) The side Sear box is a Game changer, i have a couple nice Rib eyes on now and will finish with the reverse sear. Very pleased overall and i'm a Traditional Offset Stick burner guy. There is something to be said for being able to set temp and walkaway, that is huge. I have Ribs for Sunday and will be following with Tri Tip and a Brisket after that. I will report back with how that goes, but i am very Happy with the Woodwind so far. As far as the review saying "No smoke?" Please.... "Pitmaster?" I think you need to re-read the Instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so far so good hey i got this smoker a few weeks ago and so far i can say its been a great smoker first i did a couple of ribeyes steaks and were just good for starters and learning the next thing i did was two whole chickens and OMG i could not stop eating they turned out great i think i ate almost a whole chicken LOL so last night i did two filet mignons and turned out the best i have had so far and now getting ready for a boston butt this weekend looking forward to that as well i think this pellet grill with the sear box is a must have also i have just purchased the 4 burner patio griddle/grill and think it will be a good addition for my patio and my next item will be the patio cart with the bamboo cutting board i think it will a must have for extra prep space and starage but i will have to save a little $$ and convince my a little more with the cooking i have done to justify it so far she is sold i have had other smoker/grill combos and stand alone smokers and so far nothing compares great product worth every penny

Can I get the sear box on the Wood Wind with a natural gas hook up?

Asked by: satchman
Thank you for your inquiry. We have been informed by the engineer that the sear box is hot enough, on propane, that if you hook it up to natural gas, that it would work just fine. You shouldn't need to do any further adjustments, like to the orifice, just disconnect the propane hose that comes with the sear box, and connect a natural gas hose. Now if it's not getting hot enough for your needs, then more than likely that is the reason, and we do not have a way to convert the valve orifice bigger for natural gas, at this time. Let us know if you have any other questions.

This comes with one meat probe. Can I purchase another and use 2 at once like some of the other pellet smoker/grills?

Asked by: Ian w
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there is not a 2nd port on the controller to accommodate another probe. You can only use one probe at a time.

Hi, can the sear box be used as a side burner for something like boiling a pot of water? Thanks

Asked by: TR1974
Hello, Thank you for your question. We do not see that it would be an issue to have a pot on the Searbox as long as it is not in risk of spilling over. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions. Have a great day! Camp Chef
