Contest Winning Recipe: Remer’s Frik’n Chik’n

Submitted by Adam R.

Remer’s Frik’n Chik’n is a quick and easy recipe that packs a mouthful of flavor and kick. The best part about the recipe, aside from its awesome taste, is its versatility to be used to spice up any regular dish. So hang on and see what you can do with Remer’s Frik’n Chik’n.

Remer’s Frik’n Chik’n

  • 3 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Frank’s Hot Sauce or Frank’s Buffalo Sauce Butter

Grill chicken until almost done. (We used our 12” Ribbed Skillet to grill and cook the chicken.)

*Then cut chicken up into bite size pieces.

Place cut up chicken pieces into a cast iron skillet or small dutch oven and cover with hot sauce.**

Cook for 10 minutes.

Quick, easy, and now the fun part begins.

*With this winning recipe, we opted to shred the chicken for the two dishes we made.

**Beware, if you can’t handle a lot of heat, you’ll want to find a way to tone down the kick of this recipe. We added about ¾ to 1 cup of brown sugar to the chicken while it cooked. This kept the original flavor of the hot sauce while making it so we didn’t sweat while eating our food.

Here are two dishes we wanted to spice up this recipe with: nachos and chicken tacos.

Nachos with Remer’s Frik’n Chik’n

  • 1 Bag of tortilla chips
  • 1 Small bag of shredded cheese or you can shred your own
  • 1 Bottle of jalapenos
  • 2 Roma Tomatoes
  • 1 Bunch of green onions
  • Sour Cream

  1. Turn your oven broiler on.
  2. Cover cookie sheet with tortilla chips or, we used the 16” Reversible Griddle which worked great for distributing heat and made for easy clean-up.
  3. We then added the chicken and placed the shredded cheese over the chicken. We did put a good amount of cheese because who doesn’t like cheesy nachos?—image 3—
  4. Put cookie sheet on middle rack in oven until cheese is melted.
  5. Once the cheese is melted or melting, pull out the nachos and add sliced tomatoes, jalapenos, chopped green onions and sour cream to your liking.

Then serve and enjoy!

Remer’s Frik’n Chik’n Tacos

  • Flour tortillas
  • 1 Package of unmixed cole slaw
  • 1 Roma Tomato
  • 1 Bottle of jalapenos

  1. After cooking the chicken, take your flour tortilla and put a good amount of chicken on it.
  2. Add a small handful of unmixed cole slaw.
  3. Add ranch dressing to help tone down the kick of the chicken.
  4. Then add the tomatoes, jalapenos, and chopped green onions for flavor.
