Glog (Hot Swedish Wintertime Drink)
Ingredients

3 C. Apple Juice

2 Bottles Burgandy Wine (Don't Skimp On Quality)

1 L. Bottle of Brandy or Rum (Quality is important too)

1/3 C. Sugar

2 sticks of cinammon

20 Cardamom Pods

12 Cloves

Peel from half an orange

Peel from half a lemon

1 1/2 C. blanched whole almonds

1 1/2 C. Raisins (Golden is prefered)

Cooking Instructions

Place dutch oven over low coals or propane and add Apple juice, cinammon, cardamom pods, cloves, and sugar and bring to a simmer, slowly cooking for 15 minutes. Add 2 Bottles of Burgandy wine, almonds, raisins, orange and lemon slices, and cook until mixture is hot, but not boiling. Remove oven from heat and away from flame and add Bottle of Brandy or Rum.

Use Caution
For all those that have cooked with alcohol know how volatile it can be when it is heated. If mixture does "Flame" (start on fire) carefully cover with lid and allow fire to go out before serving.

Ladle into your favorite cups and enjoy in moderation. Heat, great flavor, and plenty of alcohol can sneak up on you in no time. Can be put on and taken off fire to keep warm.
