| Ranch Swiss Steak |
Ingredients
2 lbs. round steak
1/2 C. flour
1 med. Onion, chopped
1 tsp. paprika
3 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. onion salt
1 C. water
1 clove garlic, crushed
Cooking Instructions
Cut steak into 6 pieces. Pound flour into meat. Brown meat well in shortening and season with salt and pepper. Add garlic and onion and continue cooking until onion is tender and browned. Add paprika, onion salt, and water. Transfer into your favorite cast iron pan. Cover and bake at 375 degrees until meat is tender or about 2 hours. Add more water if necessary. You will want to check and stir your meat at 30 minute intervals to pervent scorching. This serves 4, but can easily be doubled for a larger crowd.
