Enjoy the warmth of an outdoor fire without the mess and fuss of chopping wood. This beautiful fire pit burns at 55,000 BTU in a lava rock gas ring. This pit is a perfect accessory for an evening under the stars on the patio or at your favorite campground. The Del Rio's new design features decorative lava rock for improved flame performance and even heat diffusion.

Camp Chef Gas Fire Pits are allowed for use in most fire ban restrictions, check with the local Ranger Station before use.

Setup and Curing

Due to the nature of lava rocks, some rocks may need to "cure" before a lifetime of enjoyment. To do this, simply setup the firepit and ignite on high, allowing it to "bake" the rocks for about 10 minutes. During these few minutes, maintain a safe distance while a small portion of the rock may, or may not, crack and gently pop. After 10 minutes, the rock will be cured and setup complete.

  • Love this fire pit.

    perched on my patio

I bought this firepit for my cement patio. I didn't want the hassle of a wood fire (prep work, lighting, smoke, burn down time, etc.). This is the prefect alternative. Lights easily, provides plenty of heat, great for smores and hot dogs, hooked easily to a 20# grill propane cylinder. I have a five year old son and a lab with a tail of death so I really love that the outside ring does not get hot. I wish it had the copper bowl pictured on this site. The bowl is "veined penny" and more shallow than I expected. However, still an excellent firepit. I did a lot of research on propane firepits and this os the only one with the high btu rating. Flames are adjustable. I only have it on high until the charcoal gets hot and then the low setting is plenty hot. You do get better flame height if you turn the valve on slowly and hold it in for a bit per the instructions. I bought an extension hose and doubled the length with no problem. I have not had any problems with this unit and don't forsee any in the future!

  • love it!!!

This thing is great for getting a camp fire in areas with dry conditions or places with lots of tents, no sparks, low to the ground for use with roasting forks and getting heat from it. Diameter is great for lots of people to gather around. I love it!
