    Ingredients:

    • 6 Granny Smith Apples
    • 2 Cups Brown Sugar
    • 3/4 Cup Butter
    • 3 Teaspoons Cinnamon
    • 1/4 Cup Sugar

    Directions:

    Core the apples and clean out all seeds.

    Place the apples in a 10” cast iron Dutch oven in a circle on the outer edge.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 packages (1/4 oz ea) active dry yeast
    • 2 Cups warm water (110ËšF to 115ËšF)
    • 1 Cup sugar, divided
    • 1/4 Cup canola oil
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 6 to 6 ½ Cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 Cup raisins
    • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    • melted butter

    Every year I get more and more excited to hang out on the beach at Hyrum State Park, while conversing with the local Dutch Oven contestants, and smelling the magic aroma of multiple dishes float through the air. This is one of my all time favorite events!

    These little round Danish pancake balls are a cross between a pancake and a doughnut. They are very easy to make and delicious. If you don’t want to make this batter recipe try using pancake mix. You will need an aebleskiver pan to make them. We used the our cast iron aebleskiver pan.

  • Irish Apple Cake

    With St. Patrick's Day fast approaching, we've been thinking of recipes we haven't tried before. After a quick web search and brain storming session we found this yummy goodness that takes only minutes to make. We did modify it a bit. Instead of putting it all in a single pan, we used our cast iron muffin topper pan to make individual servings. The end result was no left-overs and clean-up in the kitchen was a cinch! We hope you enjoy our take on an Irish recipe.
