Hunt. Fish. Feed. SLC

By on February 9, 2012

Hunt. Fish. Feed. …Three activities that Camp Chef loves to be engaged in. So when we were asked by our friends at the Sportsman Channel to be involved with a Hunt.Fish.Feed in our neck of the woods, we jumped at the opportunity to help give back.

Hunt.Fish.Feed is a unique outreach program aimed at bringing awareness in the fight against hunger. Using an underutilized food source – game meat and fish donated by sportsmen – the Sportsman Channel annually tours around cities to help serve.

We teamed up with dozens of volunteers at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen to help prepare a hot meal for displaced individuals in the heart of Salt Lake City.

It was a busy night

Creating the Venison Tacos

Delicious venison tacos, fruit, dessert, and punch (all kindly donated) were prepared and served to several hundreds of individuals in need. It was humbling as we watched the line wrap around the kitchen and out the door, but also heartening to see so much given to help those people in need in these difficult times.
