May is an awesome month. There is Mother’s Day coming up in just a couple of weeks and Memorial Weekend to celebrate. But our favorite thing about May…It’s National BBQ Month. Yes, you read that right. So what do we do to kick this wonderful month off? We cook of course.
We wanted to give our new Stainless Steel BBQ Grill Box a run for its money and use our 14″ Professional Flat Top Griddle. The entree to be cooked was a mouth-watering chicken cordon bleu. Reall, we couldn’t think of any better way to celebrate a great month and a warm May day.
- 6 Chicken breasts
- 12 slices of thinly sliced ham
- Choice of cheese – We used pepper jack and swiss cheese
- Olive Oil
- Italian Seasoning
|Start with trimmed chicken breasts and pound them out until they are an even 1/2 inch thick.|
|Rub the breasts with olive oil then season both sides with some salt, pepper, sage and some Italian seasoning.|
|Pre-warm the grill box to about 250 degrees and grill the breasts for about 5 minutes on each side until done.|
|When you flip the breasts over to cook the second side go ahead and warm the ham on the griddle and then place on top of the finished chicken breasts.|
|Place your cheese of choice (Pepper Jack or Swiss) on top of the ham and slightly melt before removing from the grill.|
|Serve on a bun with mayo, mustard and spicy mustard as condiments.|
