Guess you might call us the Camp Chef family. Every summer from June to Sept. our family takes weekends, holidays, and full weeks at a time to spend time at our place in Island Park Idaho,(23 miles from Yellowstone park). Sometimes there are as many as 6 to 8 trailers there and if you were to walk around the camp you would see a Camp Chef stove by each trailer where all our meals are fixed. We have fry pans, dutch ovens, griddles, hamburger grills, and more.
Our favorite meal (which we fix all together as a very large family) is Lasagna, homemade garlic bread, and cobbler, all cooked in our camp chef dutch ovens. And trust me, if you haven’t fixed and eaten Lasagna in those dutch ovens you haven’t eaten great Lasagna. We use our dutch ovens for everything from scones to deep fried dill pickles, and deep fried twinkies. Our griddles cook pancakes to sheepherder potatoes on them, and I even have an aebleskiver pan that I love. Our grills do hamburgers, steaks, and our trout we catch.
OH YUMMY ITS ONLY FEBRUARY, BUT WE ARE READY TO GO. HUM!!!! Guess its time to dig out the dutch oven and cook dinner on the patio. So that we can do this, we have a disk from a farm machine that my husband made into a stand so that we could use the dutch ovens all year. Yep, even at home. I have included a photo of a grandson and a great grandson relaxing after one of our dutch oven dinners in the summer of 2010.
