Jay DiEugenio combined his love of football and a flair for outdoor cooking to create a Tailgating Tour some say is every fan’s dream! For the past two seasons, Jay has been traveling with his family in a motor home to tailgate at every stadium in the NFL. Along the way, he and his wife Karen are collecting recipes from the best “blacktop chefs” across the country for their cookbooks entitled, I Got Your Tailgate Party Right Here! To entice the tailgaters to hand over their sometimes heavily-guarded recipes, they teamed up with Camp Chef to hold a Tailgating Taste-off before each game. Cooks are invited to submit a sample of their food to compete for the title of Blacktop’s Best and to take home great prizes from Camp Chef including a grill every week! The winning recipes are also featured in the cookbooks, as well as on the website YourTailgateParty.com.

Jay has picked up tips and tricks from grill masters coast-to-coast, and learned to make regional specialties like the Midwest’s BBQ ribs, Northwest’s cedar plank salmon, Southern-style pulled pork, Western chili and even Gulf Coast gumbo. He’s discovered that in the tailgating lot, like most places, food is the heart of the party. And tailgaters often have huge crowds show up for the pre-game festivities with even bigger appetites. Thankfully, he travels with a trailer full of outdoor cooking equipment from Camp Chef that has never let him down. Whether it’s six Thanksgiving Day turkeys in Dallas or a pile of cinnamon pancakes in Atlanta, Jay can rely on his gear to get the job done.

Besides cooking before the games, he uses his grills, griddles, skillets, and Dutch ovens nearly every day during his 5 months on the road to prepare meals for his family at campgrounds along the way. He just sets up his grill outside the RV, puts out the awning and opens up the hatch with the entertainment center inside. It truly is the kitchen of his dreams. Campers wander by to chat, or to sneak a peek at what he has on the grill. And they’re always full of questions about his cool cooking “toys”.

During his Tailgating Tours Jay has been featured on television and radio programs across the country including Fox News with Jane Skinner, ESPN Sports Radio, and The Mark and Brian Radio Program. He loves to introduce himself as a “Professional Tailgater.”
